Solvent-Based Release Agent for Hand Paste FRP products LubeKote 9506

Application Field:

LubeKote 9506 solvent-based release agent is a semi-permanent release agent for thermosetting resins and thermoplastics.

LubeKote 9506 is an advanced polymer resin, a mixture of non-chlorinated organic solvents. It provides a long-lasting film that provides good release and lubrication every time, does not contaminate the product surface, low odor, no scale outstanding lubrication properties and excellent release performance.

Hand paste molding process is a simple and mature molding process, and its typical process is: on the mold coated with release agent, the resin mixture and glass fiber fabric with curing agent are manually laid layer by layer, impregnated and removed bubbles, laminated to a certain thickness, and then cured to form the product.

Release agent is essential in the production process of hand paste FRP products.

Even if the surface of the mold is smooth, it will make the product stick with the mold. If you want the product to achieve a good release effect, you must use an efficient release agent.

If the selection is improper, it will not only bring great difficulties to the construction, but also damage the molds and products, directly affecting the production quality and efficiency, resulting in unpredictable losses!

Application:

The mold should be thoroughly cleaned.

Mold cleaning and release agent application should be performed in a well ventilated area.

1. Apply Lubekote release agent to clean, dry cotton cloth.

2. Gently wipe over mold surface covering an area of approximately 0,5 m². Vigorous rubbing or polishing is not required.

3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 on the adjacent area. Ensure a good overlap with the previous area to provide complete coverage

4. Repeat until mold is completely coated.

5. When dry, allow a further 15 minutes between coats for the film to cure.

6. Repeat Steps 1- 5 above for a further 3 coats (4 in total).

7. When dry, allow final film to cure for at least 30 minutes at room temperature before molding. Allowing a longer cure or heat curing (e.g. 15 min. at 60 °C) will improve film durability

Reapply one coat of Lubekote release agent in the same way as described above when release becomes hesitant.
